Each year the PTA sets aside money within the budget for one time grants to assist and enhance the Moorlands community. In addition, each full-time classroom teacher is awarded $100 (Moor Money) to use as they wish to support their classrooms.
Grants are submitted in writing to the board and then voted on at the general membership meetings. A grant can be anything from SEL enrichment programs to new health room cots.

2026-2027 - 1st Grant Cycle
Scholastic News Subscription: a year-long resource that will provide all first-grade students with engaging reading materials that beautifully connect current events, science, and social studies to their daily curriculum.
RazKids for ELL: This vital literacy resource will continue to provide essential leveled reading and comprehension support for K-5 ELL students during morning programs and one-on-one staff sessions this school year.
Yoga 4 Classrooms: This mindful resource will bring quick stretches and breathing exercises to several different classrooms, helping numerous K-5 students improve focus, manage anxiety, and support their social-emotional well-being throughout the school day.
NeuroKids Focus: This hands-on activity system will give many second-grade students a year-long toolbox for station rotations, calm-down corners, and intentional brain breaks to help them refocus their attention and independently regulate emotions.
Patrol Supplies: This funding ensures that all fourth and fifth-grade student leaders are equipped with vital safety gear—including hats and badges - to properly perform their safety patrol duties daily.

OTTER Books: This exciting project will provide transitional chapter book sets, allowing second, third, and fourth-grade students to discover engaging new titles, collaborate with the KCLS public library, and participate in voting for their favorite book.
Trading Cards: This school-wide positive behavior resource allows staff to regularly acknowledge and celebrate K-5 students for contributing to a safe, welcoming, and positive community.
