Reflections

2010-11 Reflections Program Theme:  "Together we can."
The PTA Reflections Program is sponsored by the National PTA and is designed to enhance a quality arts education by providing an opportunity for students to explore their artistic talents and receive positive recognition for their efforts. Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit works of art in six areas:  dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts (which includes art forms such as drawing, painting, print making, and collage).

The program generally kicks off early in the school year with student entries due before Thanksgiving and judging concluded before the Christmas break.  Award recipients move on to the District level event.  The Reflections committee coordinates student applications, ensures that all entry rules are met prior to judging, identifies local artists in the community to serve as impartial judges, and hosts an art walk on campus to present awards and make sure that all kids are recognized for their efforts.
