4-20-10 Moorlands PTA general meeting

 

Called to order at 7:08.

 

Thank you notes from Mrs. McDonalds first grade class for auction books and one from Ms. Rausch for the books she has bought using auction money.

 

6^th grade party – Ann-Marie Clarke raised enough money during raffle; swim party at aqua club, there are other activities as well, but most swim, memory books, t-shirts

 

emergency preparedness – Ann-Marie Clarke – working with Mrs. Finch – replenish food (millennium bars, smaller boxed water, ice packs) and unpack comfort kits – families will not supply comfort kits – 2 year plan for adding blankets and games and purchase a new container. Laura - PTA approved money for container at the beginning of this year, so should be able to do that sooner. Do we need new walkie-talkies?

 

Golden acorn – presented next week – Ginny Larsen heading up

 

Staff appreciation – 3^rd week of May (17^th) – Ginny Larsen and Susan Watters – theme is summer survival – giving gift cards – also will be looking or volunteers for supplying lunches

 

Book exchange – first week of June – Kelly Evered – Tues-Friday. Karen requested that we wait to open up last day until morning recess and wait to close until later in the day. Debbie Fullerton has an idea for taking left-over books.

 

Future business items – add a line item to the budget for Talent show (every other year); will request more money for art docents for supplies and replacing older prints (~$500)

 

Still looking for exec board positions – secretary, permitting, treasurer, co-president – nominations next month. Co-chair needed for communications, especially if person would prefer to work at home on web site.
