Congratulations to the winners of our PTA Membership Drive Pizza Party!!! Mrs. Andrew's 3rd graders came in with 76% participation and Mr. Cooper's 4th graders with 84% participation! Thanks for supporting the PTA!!!

DISTRICT BOND/LEVY MEASURES ON THE BALLOT
February 9th is the voting deadline! Have you looked at your ballot yet? Moorlands Elementary has a history of strong voter support as compared to other schools in passing school bonds and levys but it can be better. We must continue to show that our school community values the education of our children and the commitment our teachers make every day to our students. Voting yes on these measures will help the district:
- Ensure safe learning environments for kids and teachers
- Maintain reasonable classroom sizes
- Minimize risks of strikes and labor disputes
- Protect jobs and programs (learning specialists, struggling learner, highly capable, sports, etc.)
- Continue planned capital improvements on aging schools
- Renew expiring Levies that provides 20% of daily operational costs and continued support of technology in the classroom
- Strengthen property values by developing award winning schools

Now is the time to start thinking about auction! Our biennial auction to be held next spring is Moorlands PTA's biggest fundraiser, and provides a fun way to celebrate our school while supporting our fantastic PTA programs and school needs. There are many volunteers eagerly waiting to help out; however they need a few people to lead the way. The PTA is currently looking for 3-4 people who would be willing to step up and lead these volunteers to put on another fun-filled evening for the Moorlands community. These 3-4 people will find an abundance of resources and information to help them with this endeavor. As I had the unique honor of being the chairperson for the last auction, I am willing to provide my insight to help in any way I can. I found the experience to be very rewarding and gratifying and am looking forward to another great event, but we need your help!
